My name is Guillermo Cano, and I am 32 years old. I’m from Barcelona, a city where I started surfing approximately 20 years ago.
When I turned 25 and finally graduated with a degree in tourism, I decided to leave everything behind, give away everything that didn’t fit in my backpack, and start a new life. As a result of that decision, I spent the next four years traveling wherever I found good opportunities and great waves. I explored parts of Southeast Asia, lived in Morocco, and roamed through Central and South America. My greatest motivation was always the waves.
Once I broke free from the societal chains that had bound me and met the standards expected of me, I could only think about dedicating myself to the sea. About seven years ago, I started sharing my passion for the ocean and surfing. After earning my international and later my national surf instructor certifications, I began fully dedicating myself to teaching.
Four years ago, I visited Fuerteventura to see a lifelong friend. Those ten days turned into a month, then two, and before I knew it, years had passed. After working at several schools on the island, I felt it was time to take flight on my own and pursue my lifelong dream: to have my own surf school and, eventually, a surf house where students can stay and share experiences.
With the creation of the school, I also started this blog to share useful information for learning to surf, curiosities, or simply interesting related articles. The goal of this blog is not only to share with you but also to create a communication channel where you can participate, ask questions about anything you’re unsure about, things you want to know but don’t know who to ask, or simply share your opinions on topics related to surfing.
