With small groups and personalized coaching, we adapt each session to the level and rhythm of every family member — from those standing on a board for the first time to those who already feel comfortable in the water.
Safety is always our top priority: we carefully choose the best spots and times depending on the sea conditions and the age of the participants.
Guided by Guillermo Cano, a surfer with more than 25 years of experience and 10 years teaching, you’ll discover that surfing together is not just about learning a technique — it’s about sharing unique moments, strengthening bonds, and connecting with nature.

Can we all surf together in the same class?
Yes. Our family surf lessons are designed so that parents and children can share the experience together in the water.

We recommend our family lessons for children from 8 years old.

Yes, it’s important that all participants know how to swim.
You don’t need to be an expert swimmer, but you should feel comfortable in the water, as most of the class takes place in shallow areas where you can stand, though always in the sea.
What equipment should I bring to a surf lesson at your school?
At Coconut Surf Experience, surfboard, leash, and wetsuit are included in the price of our surf lessons. We recommend bringing sunscreen, water, a swimsuit (to wear under the wetsuit), and a dry change of clothes for after the lesson.
Is it necessary to know how to swim to participate in surf lessons?
Yes, knowing how to swim is essential for participating in our surf lessons. For safety reasons, it is crucial that participants can stay afloat and return to shore if necessary. Basic swimming skills help students feel more comfortable and confident in the water, enhancing their learning experience and safety.

What happens during a surf lesson at your school?
Our surf lessons at Coconut Surf Experience consist of several stages. First, we assign the equipment and put on the wetsuits. On the beach, we assess conditions and discuss the environment. We then provide a theoretical session tailored to the group’s level, followed by a warm-up. We practice techniques on the beach before entering the water to surf the waves.
Do you offer beginner surf lessons at your school?
Yes, Coconut Surf Experience offers surf lessons for all levels, including beginners. We adapt the equipment, schedule, and spot selection, providing technical and practical advice based on the student’s level.
Will I be able to stand up on the board during my first surf lesson?
This depends on you. No one can guarantee it, but at Coconut Surf Experience, we choose the beach and schedule based on conditions, and provide the best equipment and teaching methods, refined over 10 years, to help you achieve this. What types of wetsuits do you provide for surf lessons?
In Fuerteventura, thanks to its climate, we can surf year-round with 3/2 wetsuits. In the summer, it’s even possible to surf in swimwear.
